Forward/backward navigation is like a useless redundancy. We recommend installing a dark theme or new. I click through a website, and I suddenly have 8 tabs opened, all to the same page with slightly different displays.Ĭrazier still, in that new tab, I can navigate backwards to the page I left, but that page is actually in the previous tab to the left. Just hold the control-key down before you click on the link with the mouse to open the link in a new tab. The extension cannot change the appearence of a new tab or browser (though in Firefox it can since version 60). You’ll see the old Firefox new tab page with its larger thumbnail icons again. Double-click the option in the list here to set it to False.

The keyboard shortcut for this function is Ctrl-T. Type newtabpage into the search box at the top of the about:config page to find the relevant settings. The idea that every single time I click a link, a new tab opens up is madness. In Firefox, a new tab can be created by going to File -> New Tab on the menu bar. Seriously, I want to click a link, and then that same window/tab should simply navigate to that new page, like browsers have been doing for a long time. I feel like I'm a bit like Alice in the rabbit hole. I have no problem setting up my home page, but new tabs open as blank pages.

The other two items under Tabs do not alter or adjust the process. Unfortunately, I have been to this area, and the only options they offer are to open links in new window or when opening them in new tab, switch directly to them.
